What happens during a thread lift?
The whole thread lift procedure usually takes less than an hour. Your surgeon will start by marking on your skin where the threads will go. Then they’ll inject those areas with local anesthetic.
Once you’re numb, your doctor will insert a long needle, or cannula, with the thread attached to it, into your skin and pass it under the skin’s surface. The thread is then pulled taut in order to create tension and lift the tissue. This process is repeated until all the threads—anywhere from just a few to more than 20—are placed.
Because the procedure is done under local anesthesia, you should feel comfortable driving yourself home when it’s done.
